together we are brilliant

Volunteering at Glenfield

Volunteers are invaluable, helping with activities such as

  • Reading with the children
  • Arts & crafts
  • Helping children within the classroom
  • Making resources

All you need is a little spare time and enthusiasm. It is the school policy to require ALL volunteers working in school, and seen by the children as a trusted adult, to obtain Disclosure and Barring Enhanced Clearance, have two references and an interview with the Headteacher.

Volunteers will be asked to comply with our policies (click HERE to access our policies) and maintain our safe and secure environment.

Parent Volunteers

Parent volunteers may be able to help on a regular basis and commit to a time slot each week whereas others may offer help when required, such as for an educational visit.

If any parent has a skill that they feel could be useful to school, e.g. an artist, musician or author, please let the school office know. All help is readily accepted and is not confined to working with children.

Parents will be expected to follow school protocol and policies.

Please click HERE for documents to make your application.

Parents might also want to consider helping as a member of the Friends of Glenfield who organise fundraising and social events for families to enjoy. Please click HERE for more details.

Finally, parents may like to put themselves forward as a school governor.  Please click HERE for more information.

Community Volunteers

We have a number of members of the local community wishing to volunteer at our school. This includes grandparents, work experience students and adults seeking educational settings to support their studies. Community volunteers may be asked to meet the cost of their DBS (Disclosure and Barring Certificate - formerly a CRB) which is £40.
