Safeguarding at Glenfield Infants
At Glenfield Infant School we believe it is really important to teach how to keep themselves and others safe and forms a key part of our curriculum. The children regularly take part in learning through assemblies and classroom teaching which focuses on how to keep safe in different situations.
Safeguarding Concerns
All concerns are reported to the relevant agencies. We follow Southampton City Council's policies and procedures, copies of which are available on our website or from the school office.
If you have a safeguarding concern during school hours you must contact one of the following:

E-safety
- Awareness of bullying and peer on peer abuse
- How to keep safe with adults children do not know - ‘Clever Never Goes’ programme
- How to keep our body and minds healthy
- How to keep safe in emergency situations such as when there is a fire
- NSPCC PANTS (The Underwear Rule)
We teach these through many different ways in our curriculum:
- Assemblies
- Direct teaching
- Our RSHE curriculum through SCARF and Happy Minds
- Healthy school days
- Topics such as ‘People Who Help Us’, ‘Cyber Safety’- introducing the new Reception to ‘safe’ people in school
- Local community representatives to support the curriculum such as Community Police, Fire Safety etc
- Links with NSPCC
